It’s the shortest day of the year, so where I am winter is technically beginning and I guess it’s something like midwinter for Britain and that side of the pond. Summer Solstice for the southern hemisphere and all that, so if you’re of a mind to celebrate that sort of thing it’s a good day for it. For me it’s Yule.
I’ve not been using the camera; I’ve not been well (not corona related, thankfully) for months and I’m starting to get better but every time it seems like it’s gone it kinda comes back, so we’ll see what happens. I hope to get out again sooner or later, preferably sooner, frankly; you’re gonna get stuck with monochrome winter shots for the most part if I’m feeling well enough to go out though. Between whatever quarantining we do now and til I’m vaccinated I’m not honestly sure if I’ll be getting out much it at all, though (we’ve got a midnight curfew right now where I am so night photography is out). I’ll try to get out with the camera regardless.
And happy holidays to everyone who celebrates something else. We already did Celtic New Year at the start of November, standard New Year’s Eve is around the corner, Chinese New Year shortly afterwards around February 12th, so plenty of excuses to celebrate whatever you feel like celebrating. Have a good day any of your holidays despite the current state of world affairs I guess, if you can.
